House Judiciary Chair Subpoenas Watchdog Organization

The Center for Countering Digital Hate continues to avoid providing communications.

The chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Representative Jim Jordan of Ohio, issued a subpoena to the Center for Countering Digital Hate (CCDH), requesting documents related to its communications with the federal government.

CCDH is a nonprofit that tracks and reports the spread of misinformation on social media platforms. To do this, the organization works collaboratively with many government officials and social media company representatives.

The House Judiciary Committee focused on the nonprofit in recent months due to the alleged partisan nature of online censorship. Chairman Jordan has sent multiple requests to the CCDH asking for the release of its communications to committee members. The CCDH has sidestepped these requests, saying that they have worked rigorously to remain nonpolitical and nonpartisan through their work with multiple presidential administrations.

Congressman Jordan continues to request information from the organization, saying that “by declining to produce anything of substance in response to the Committee’s request, CCDH is hindering the Committee’s ability to fulfill its constitutional oversight obligations.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For wisdom for Chairman Jordan as he seeks answers from the nonprofit regarding censorship.
  • For members of the House Judiciary Committee as they provide oversight to federal agencies.
  • For the Lord to out work His purposes in the United States government.
